Moving office - telecommunications checklist

Use this handy checklist list to make sure your telecommunications continue working without uneccessary interruption while you complete your move to your new office location.

Please ensure that you provide the following information to provide your telecommunications company at least two weeks prior to the move date to ensure sufficient time for various services to be transferred. It may help to print out this form or copy it into an email to send!

Name of site contact (who will be available to answer queries during the move)

(broadband transfer requires 2 week’s notice)

Phone systems (If you are moving a PBX please provide the contact details of your PBX vendor so we can coordinate the move)*
* Any internal cabling needs to be organised by customer prior to the move (this can be organised with the customer's PBX vendor).

If you require your main number to be diverted to another number during the move please provide this number. Additional charges will apply if it is a mobile number. You may also wish to divert your 0800 and fax number.

If your move is out of your current area and your old number cannot be used at the new location do you want a customer link to the new number (so any calls to the old number will be seamlessly diverted to the new number at your own cost) – or would you like a simple number notification on the old number advising customers of the new number to call?

Note that you do not need to cancel your telecommunications services in order to move them to a new location – this will simply cause additional delays and possible loss of numbers and information.
