Fibre & Ultrafast Broadband service

Ultra-Fast Fibre Optic Internet Access

Ultrafast Broadband Fibre Optic Based Internet access (UFB) can deliver the highest level of speed, performance, reliability and scalability.

Superior data speeds allow your business to run faster and staff to work faster and more efficiently; but more importantly fibre internet access opens the door to a whole new way of doing business.

Now you can 'plug your business into the cloud' and access all the cloud computing applications that you've been hearing about. Your servers can be hosted in the cloud, eliminating downtime and backup costs and enabling remote access from anywhere in the world. You can use proven cloud based applications for accounting, sales management and CRM to reduce cost and streamline your processes.

Fibre also prepares your business for a whole new level of communication. Forget paying for copper lines - SIP Trunks, IP Voice, an IP PBX and video conferencing will take your business communications into the future.

UltraFast Broadband is available NOW at better than ever before prices

Chorus has started the nationwide Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) roll out, and aim to deliver Ultrafast Broadband to 800,000 NZ homes, schools, hospitals and businesses by 2020. The first year's deployment plan has been released, and will connect 43,000 homes and businesses by July 2012.

Some of the key initial roll out areas are in Auckland and Wellington:

  • Auckland: Albany, Rosebank, Herne Bay, Grey Lynn, Remuera and East Tamaki
  • Wellington Region: Porirua (Plimmerton, Papakowhai and Whitby), Kelson and Churton Park.

New Ultra-fast Broadband fibre pricing has been released, and Ultra-fast Fibre services are available now at 204 telecom exchanges, so most CBD business sites can already access Ultra-fast Broadband, at much lower prices than businesses are used to paying for fibre internet access.

Benefits of Ultra Fast Fibre

Fibre Optic has specifically been designed to support data, voice and video traffic. The bandwidth of a Fibre Optic service is synchronous, with speeds from 1Mbs to 100Mbs, which means Fibre is suitable for all enterprise level applications.

Fibre Optic delivers low latency, low jitter, and very low packet loss, and is easy to work with as it terminates in the Ethernet and supports multiple static IP's.

Depending on the underlying Fibre Optic network, customer requirements and availability, Fibre Optic solutions are delivered with guaranteed speeds and maximum reliability, either over a dedicated or shared circuit.

How fibre optic internet access works

Sample Fibre Optic Internet Access Customer Profile

An engineering firm office regularly sends and receives 200MB files over its DSL Internet connection. The thirty minute download time is causing problems for staff trying to turn around jobs quickly. Moving to a 5MB DigiLink Fibre internet connection would reduce download times for these files to under five minutes, reducing job turnaround times and improving productivity.

Fibre optic internet access and a SIP trunk will also enable the firm to use IP Voice, with free calling between offices, free local calling and free calling to their group mobiles. They can add an IP PBX for effortless scalability and full PABX functionality.

They can use web conferencing to make presentations to overseas clients, and use cloud based applications and virtual servers to reduce overheads, back up costs and upgrade costs.
