Telecom has started the nationwide Ultra-Fast Broadband roll out, and aim to deliver fibre to 800,000 NZ homes, schools, hospitals and businesses by 2020. The first year's deployment plan has been released, and will connect 43,000 homes and businesses by July 2012.

New UFB pricing has been released, and UFB services are available now at 204 telecom exchanges, so most CBD business sites can already access UFB, at much lower prices than businesses are used to paying.
